Day trip to Durham

Hi everyone,

Today I decided to visit Durham, which is a highly popular university city and very famous for its Norman cathedral and 11th-century castle. Even some of the first two Harry Potter movies were filmed there, which makes the super fan inside me scream of excitement. Unfortunately, I was not be able to visit the actual spot which appears in the movies, but I did walk in the town and enjoyed all the other beautiful buildings and scenery.

I think Durham is an excellent day or even half-a-day trip from Newcastle as the train from Newcastle lasts only 15 minutes and the city is excellent for walking as it feels like almost everything is on the short distance away. I did take some photos during my visit with a camera I was able to borrow so you get to enjoy some of the views as well while reading this post.

After starting the renovation, I have been loving to look at other people's front doors.
